ANGELA RAMPINO
English at heart
Find out more about me:
Multilingual beginnings
I was born and grew up in the south of Italy, specifically in a small town in the sun-kissed south of Puglia. When I was around four years old, witnessing my insatiable need to mimic English sounds and phrases, my parents bought me a comprehensive English video course for children and later sent me off to various study trips to the UK. Since then, I have been nurturing my passion for the English language and culture, and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon.
Learning my craft
At 18, I moved to Forlì to study English and Spanish at the Scuola Superiore di Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori (SSLMIT), a prestigious university for Translators and Interpreters in Italy. I also attended University College London in 2009, where I honed my translation and language skills while soaking up the English culture and lifestyle. Equipped with a BA (Hons), I decided to develop my knowledge further and embark on an MA in Conference Interpreting at SSLMIT Forlì.

Corporate experience in London
Following a successful academic path, I decided it was time to move back to London, where I worked in Retail Operations for a multinational beauty company. This enabled me to live and breathe the corporate culture, not to mention British business jargon! I also gained a deep understanding of what is important when translating or interpreting for the cosmetics industry.
Going freelance and perfecting my skills
In 2016, I moved back to my hometown in Italy. It was then that I took the big leap and kick-started my career as a freelance Italian language specialist.
Fuelled by my enthusiasm for learning, I stay updated on the latest developments in translation and interpreting, and regularly participate in continuing professional development courses.
I am an Associate Member of AITI, The Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters (see here), which means I work professionally and abide by its code of professional ethics and conduct.
So you can be certain that your project will benefit from all the accuracy, confidentiality, and dedication it deserves.

Not Just translation!
I have also been devoting my time to English teaching for almost a decade. I specialise in teaching General English, Business English, and English for Tourism courses to individuals and company staff as well as at Italian academic establishments.
